LaFollette Church of God is a congregation of love and compassion with a "welcome home" attitude, so we are excited when folks worship with us. Its like we get to meet new family members.
The hope of LCOG is that people will feel the freedom to worship the Lord and will find encouragement and strength to overcome life's tests and difficulties.
We are quick to point out the importance of allowing Jesus Christ to be lord over our lives and activities inside the church and outside where we are given opportunities to be living witnesses of God's love, mercy and forgiveness.
The main focus points at LCOG are: The WORD OF GOD (the Bible), which is the foundation of all our beliefs. We believe in God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Ghost (Holy Spirit)... One God in Three equal but distinct personalities.
We believe the Word is the source of all our faith. Romans 10:17 says that without faith it is impossible to please God. Romans 12:2 and Ephesians 5:26 tell us that our minds are to be cleansed by the Word of God. You will hear a LOT of emphasis on the authority of the Word here at LCOG.
LaFollette Church of God is a Word-based, faith teaching, full gospel, pentecostal congregation affiliated with the Church of God denomination whose international offices are at Keith and 25th Street in Cleveland, Tennessee. Our state offices are located on Old Lee Highway in Chattanooga, Tennessee.
The Church of God movement began in a prayer meeting in Monroe County in 1886 and has now grown with congregations in 185 countries. We have a very strong missions program which enables us to do our part in fulfilling the Great Commission of Jesus Christ by going into all the world with the message of the Gospel.
The entire congregation of LaFollette Church of God wants you to know how important you are to all of us. God made you in His image and after His likeness. You are made with a variety of gifts, talents and abilities designed to equip you for service in His kingdom.
None of us claim to be perfect and we know that most everyone has a past. The only way we can overcome those short-comings is to bring them to the Lord and trust in His abundant mercy to rescue and remake us. God loves you and He is more than willing to help transform your life into something pretty spectacular.
